This charming Parador, once a palace, is perched spectacularly on top of a great sandstone cliff. It is an ideal starting point both for the Pueblos Blancos (‘White Villages’) trail, and the Wine Route, culminating in Jerez. The hotel itself contains a range of architectural styles, from arcaded courtyards and a beamed dining room to modern patios and balconies. The friendly restaurant offers a number of local dishes. The bedrooms with balconies offer magnificent views of Arcos.
The Parador is located in the town’s old quarter. It is 30 km from Jerez via the N-382, which connects to the Cádiz-Seville highway.
The Parador is located in the historical centre of the town, surrounded by historical buildings such as the Santa María church, the Castle and the Town Hall. Arcos is known as a “pueblos blancos” or a white village and is one of the best examples of this type of classic Spanish design in the region. Parador de Arcos de la Frontera is also 40 km approx from Grazalema National Park, a vast mountainous national park that has been declared a Biosphere Reserve. For those that would prefer a sporting break, the Arcos Gardens Golf Club, a versatile yet challenging golf course is also approximately 6km from the Parador and welcomes day members.
