Parador de Chinchón

Description

Visitors to this atmospheric and beautifully restored 17th century Augustinian convent will be thankful that monasticism in the 17th century was not such an austere affair – in those days the monks and nuns enjoyed comfortable living and good eating, and these are qualities that may still be enjoyed by guests. The Parador boasts richly adorned public rooms decorated with Renaissance murals, magnificent tapestries and classical furniture and the old cloisters, now enclosed in glass, look onto a courtyard with fountain, shrubs and roses. In the restaurant, which features old Spanish tiles, guests may enjoy both international and Castilian dishes.
