The Parador de Merida is housed in an 18th century building with a long and interesting history. Before it became a hotel it served as a temple, a church, a hospital, a Roman forum, a mosque and even a jail and has been occupied by the Christians, Moors, Visigoths and Romans. Beautiful and well decorated bedrooms are equipped with all the amenities and conveniences one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. The beautiful Jardin de Antiguedades and the inner patio invite guests to go outside and enjoy the gardens. In the hotel grounds you will find a small outdoor pool, a fitness area and a sauna. The restaurant serves local specialities and has an excellent wine list. There is also a bar.
