Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Our 9 day pilgrimage begins in Tiberias where we will spend 3 nights.From there we will visit Nazareth, Cana, the Mount of Beatitudes, Mount Tabor, Capernaum and enjoy a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee. Then we travel to Jerusalem and spend 5 nights there.During this time we will visit all of the main sites including the Via Dolorosa, the Holy Sepulchre, Mount Zion and the Western Wall. We will visit Bethlehem and Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and have time for a dip in the Dead Sea!

Itinerary Details

Day 1 – Thursday 14 March

Depart Dublin to Tel Aviv via Istanbul.On arrival meet and greet at the airport and transfer to Tiberias for overnight.

Day 2 – Friday 15 March

We commence the day with a visit to the first century synagogue and Pilgrim Centre at Magdala followed by a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee.Afterwards visit Capernaum, then on to Tabgha to visit the site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes.Continue to the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter (Mensa Christi).Visit the Mount of Beatitudes - site of the Sermon on the Mount.Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3 – Saturday 16 March

Breakfast at hotel.Drive to Mount Tabor, scene of the Transfiguration and ascend the mountain by taxi.Then continue on to Cana of Galilee - site of the first miracle at the wedding feast.Afterwards drive to Nazareth. Visit the home of the Holy Family, St. Joseph’s workshop, the Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s Well. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Sunday 17 March

Breakfast at hotel.Check out and drive to the Baptismal site on the River Jordan.Continue through the Jordan Valley and onwards to Jerusalem.On arrival enjoy the panoramic view of old and new Jerusalem from Mount Scopus.Continue to the Tomb of King David on Mount Zion, the Upper Room and the Dormition Abbey. Drive to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.Visit Schindler’s grave.Check in to hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Monday 18 March

Breakfast at hotel.Drive to the Mount of Olives. Visit the Church of the Ascension, Pater Noster and Dominus Flevit.Afterwards visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations.Continue on to Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist and visit the Church of St. John.Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Optional Holy Hour in the Church of All Nations.

Day 6 – Tuesday 19 March

Breakfast at hotel.Drive to Bethlehem (10 km).Visit the Church of the Nativity, the site of the Nativity, Manger Square and the Grotto of St. Jerome.Visit the Shepherd’s Fields.Meet with the Christian community in Bethlehem.On return journey stop at Haas Promenade to view the Kidron Valley.Return to hotel.Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 7 – Wednesday 20 March

Breakfast at hotel.Drive to St. Stephen’s Gate. Enter the Old City. Visit the Church of St. Ann and Pool of Bethesda. Proceed to the Chapel of Flagellation.Continue to Lithostrotos.Walk along the Via Dolorosa. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Cardo to the Temple Area. Visit the Western Wall.Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8 – Thursday 21 March

Breakfast at hotel.Drive through the Wilderness of Judea bypassing the Inn of the Good Samaritan, along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran - site of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Take a dip in the Dead Sea.Return to hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9 – Friday 22 March

Breakfast at hotel.Depart to Tel Aviv Airport for your return flight.


Golan Hotel, Tiberias (3 nights)

This hotel is located in the historic centre of Tiberias. It offers beautiful views over the lake and Mount Hermon, and an outdoor pool (seasonal). All rooms have air conditioned and cable TV.

Crowne Plaza, Jerusalem 4* (5 nights)

The hotel is located in West Jerusalem, close to the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, and within walking distance of the Israel Museum. All its 390 rooms are tastefully decorated. It has a restaurant and bar and other amenities include gym, spa and indoor pool.
